CrutionixTube has just officially introduced push notifications for new uploads! This means as of December 2nd 2018, you can opt-in for optional push notifications. To answer your questions, we’ve compiled the following answers:
How does it work?
Push Notifications will be delivered to ‘subscribers’ on the day of a new CrutionixTube upload after the user opts-in for the notification service.
What exactly does ‘subscribing’ mean and why would I want to?
To receive push notifications is an optional service that requires the user to grant us permission to show and send notifications. You might want to subscribe so that you can watch CrutionixTube Original Series when they debut 3 days early on CrutionixTube. By getting notifications, you’ll get told on the day of upload that the video is ready for you to watch?
Why does the notification not come instantly?
To ensure that we don’t accidentally send you a false alarm incase the video needs to be taken down or if there are any technical hiccups, notifications will be delivered within 12 hours of the video release. To put less stress on our servers, this might mean the first notification goes out 20 minutes after the video is posted, with the final being delivered 5 hours later. All notifications will be honored in the first 24 hours of the video being published.
How do I subscribe or unsubscribe for notifications?
When you first visit the site you will be greeted with a popup box that looks like the following:
If you wish to subscribe for notifications, click the “Allow” button and follow the prompts. You may need to give your browser access to pop-ups in order to open the window. To do this please click on your browser: Chrome / Firefox / Opera
If you do not see this window, there is also a small circle with a bell icon in the bottom left hand corner of the display. This is also how you can easily 1-click unsubscribe from notifications. Click this and follow the prompts to enable or disable push notifications.
Finally, you can subscribe by going to http://www.crutionix.com/subscribe
What devices and browsers currently support these notifications?
Currently the following browsers support these notifications:
*note: other browsers may support the universal push notification technologies for browsers in the future, or there may be other browsers that currently implement these features, however, these are the officially supported operating systems and browsers that currently support CrutionixTube notifications.
